Choosing The Right Themes with Office Furnitures

An Office with Flair
by lisa kanarek

Q: I am looking for resources to find home office furnishings that are somewhat less conventional. For example, lateral files that easily fit into

home decor, and rather than the standard gray/black rolling desk chair, perhaps a rolling desk chair in a bright color of upholstery. Do you have

any resources or companies that I can contact for home office furniture that is more "home" and less "office?"
A: One of the many perks of working from home includes furnishing and decorating your home office to fit your style and taste. Fortunately,

furniture manufacturers have realized how viable the home office market is. They've also concluded that home office professionals want their

offices to look different from a corporate setting and have expanded their furniture lines.

Home office furniture comes in a variety of sizes, materials and styles. You can choose from glass desks, to computer armoires made to fit any

decor, to small computer workstations for even the smallest home office. For a list of stylish furniture makers, see the "Furniture Resources" page

in Setting Up an Office on Any Budget. With regard to a colorful rolling desk chair, one of my favorites is the Leap chair by Steelcase.
